Galio is the colossus that keeps Demacia safe from enemy mages. But he doesn’t see the action very often. Usually, he is motionless and wakes up only by the presence of a powerful mage. Coincidentally, he followed a similar path on the Summoner’s Rift. For a very long time, Galio was forgotten and players would barely pick him.
That all changed after he received a rework. He went from being a tank to one-shotting enemy foes with a single Winds of Wind back to being a tank. Nowadays he’s in a good spot and is known for his roaming. Players tend to play him the most in the mid lane and as a support.
Galio’s skin collection comes short in many aspects. On that note, don’t be surprised by the many skins that will be found on this tier list. After all, he has only 8 skins in his repertoire. Continue reading until the end to found out what is the best Galio skin.

8. Hextech Galio
When Galio first got released in 2010, he instantly received two skins. One of them was Hextech. Piltover’s largest industries came together to create him. He is a massive golem that protects the city but is more often seen as an advertisement for Hextech items.
His appearance feels cheap as he is made of copper parts. There are no changes in his animations. But that wasn’t expected from a 520 RP skin anyways. The best part of it is his wings. Players can see his tremendous power flowing through them.
7. Enchanted Galio
Enchanted is Hextech’s sibling skin that was released on the same day. Just like its brother, it as well costs merely 520 RP. He doesn’t wear his traditional armor but instead is made out of huge scales. His power flows between them in a form of blue magic.
There are 3 skins in total that costs 520 RP but this one is the best. We recommend it for anyone that is on a tighter budget.

6. Commando Galio – Best Budget Skin
Similar to Hextech Galio, Commando was created by humans. This time it was the government. They militarily styled his armor. It is primarily green with a surprising number of details.
He wears orange glasses while his gloves have fire coming out of them. At the end of his tail is a plane. That gives us a good perception of how huge Galio actually is. Lastly, Riot also included an orange shemagh. There are 3 skins in total that costs
5. Debonair Galio
Whenever there are special occasions, Debonair Galio is always ready. Rocking a white tux with a royal purple he’s the center of attention. The fact he is 80 feet tall probably helps as well. The skin costs 750 RP but doesn’t have any new animations!
His splash art is one of the better ones that Riot made. They caught the idea they were trying to present perfectly. His hair and beard are black. It’s the only skin where his hair and facial hair are visible.
4. Birdio – Editor’s Pick
Buk, buk, buk, ba-gawk. It’s the Birdio! Our favorite giant wears a chicken costume with an orange apron. He is the regional manager for one of the largest chicken restaurants and has a famous rivalry with Sivir. I mean, who doesn’t want to be a chicken employee of the year?
This is the first skin on our list that has some actual changes to in-game animations and sound effects. Galio’s tornadoes are replaced by buckets of chicken. While they hurt his enemies, I’m sure there’s plenty of us who would be happy to get some of that nice fried chicken. His W shows small bubbles indicating it’s made out of frying oil.
But the best part of this skin is its recall animation. Galio whips out a deep fryer and prepares tasty chicken in front of our very eyes. If you’re still not sold on why this skin is great, perhaps its price will tip you over. Birdio costs 975 RP, much less than the usual 1350 RP that modern skins are.

3. Infernal Galio
The first of the two Galio skins involving a hell theme is Infernal. Whether his body is made out of fire or it just flows within him is uncertain. Furthermore, he wears a mask covering his face. His armor is made out of a special metal allowing it to withstand such high temperatures.
While his abilities are very similar to Birdio they’re more refined. The biggest difference can be seen during his E Justice Punch where he leaves the trail of fire behind him. It also has new sound effects and a bunch of chromas to keep you entertained.
2. Gatekeeper Galio
Many gates need a keeper, but this Galio opted for one of the hardest ones. He’s a great duke of Hell that judges all the sinners and puts them in eternal torment. Thankfully his splash art does him justice. He’s hundreds of feet tall and mortal souls approach him over a pier one by one.
His armor is decorated with black and golden color. On the other hand, his body and his wings are bloody red. Just like all of the demons are. To recall he passes through a gate made out of his wings. But the cool part is you can also see him walking out of them once you are on the fountain.
Gatekeep Galio’s spells are dominated by the green color. It’s present in all of his animations. On top of all those things, there is also a new voice on the skin. Here’s the kicker though. It’s by far his most expensive skin standing at 1820 RP.
1. Dragon Guardian Galio – Best Overall
The best Galio skin is Dragon Guardian Galio. He’s not a stone golem anymore but is a dragon instead. His body is covered in gray scales while his hands and wings are blue. The skin costs 1350 RP and is available in the shop all year round.
He protects a baby dragon that hatches out of the egg during his recall animation. His Q fires two dragons that combine into a tornado once they reach a target. Upon using Justice Punch a white trail stays behind him. Lastly, the dragon’s logo appears on an ally he uses his ultimate on. Alongside completely revamped sound effects are also a couple of chromas.
I give him an edge over Gatekeeper Galio because Galio’s job is primarily to be a protector. They did an excellent job with both of them and it’s up to you to decide which one is more appealing to you.
