The Sun Goddess is known for her engages and setting up wombo combos. But what about her skins? There are over a dozen of them and we’re sure you’re not familiar with them, let alone know which is the best Leona skin. Here’s a brief overview of each of them.

10. Valkyrie Leona
With a cool name like a Valkyrie, we expected this skin to be an absolute badass. Sadly, that isn’t the case. There are minimal changes compared to the original such as clothing and armor shape. Besides that, everything else stays the same. Sorry Valkyrie, but you should be in the skin halls of Valhalla not on the Summoner’s Rift.
9. Iron Solari Leona
Just like it is the case with our number 10 pick, Iron Solari doesn’t have any new animations. Luckily, Riot improved her outfit and now he looks battle-ready. She wears steel armor and looks pretty good in-game. Sadly, the splash art doesn’t do her justice. It feels like she was photoshopped into the background as she doesn’t blend with it whatsoever.
8. Pool Party Leona
Pool Party was a big change in the direction Riot was taking her. They experimented by making her more approachable and less fierce. She wears a summer dress and her shield is a surfboard. After all, she’s a former champion surfer. To help her deal with the summer heat, her sword was transformed into a parasol. It’s the first skin that comes with updated animations as well as chromas. The biggest change is her recall animation. The havoc around doesn’t bother her as she chills on her beach chair.
7. Barbecue Leona – Best Budget Skin
Goddess, fearless warrior, and a grill master. Somehow those three words belong in the same sentence together. She wears an old school dress with a tiny chef hat on her head. Then things get interesting when looking at her weapons. Her shield is a grill and her sword turns into a skewer with sausage at the end of it.
While there are no changes in the terms of animations and sound effects, the skin is awesome! Finally, it costs just 750 RP and is worth it.

6. PROJECT: Leona
Reaching the 5th best Leona skin means we’re finally getting to the heavy hitters. It changes her appearance completely by putting her into heavy armor. Instead of her usual voice, you will enjoy a new updated one. There are also additional quotes. On top of that Riot updated her animations and sound effects up to date so players can enjoy it even today.
5. DWG Leona – Editor’s Pick
Some people might argue DWG doesn’t deserve to be this high up the list, but here’s my case of why it should. The skin is based on a bright blue color, something no other skin replicates. Instead, they’re based on the darker, more mundane pallets. Secondly, every World Champion should be celebrated.
There are several touches involving DWG throughout the skin. Their logo can be seen on her W, as well as after she stuns a foe using her Q. Lastly, BeryL’s signature is presenting during her recall animation. If you want to grab it your best chance to do it during the World’s Championship.
4. /3. Solar Eclipse Leona / Lunar Eclipse Leona
Numbers 3 and 4 are very similar skins. On that note, it felt wrong separating them since some players will surely prefer one over the other. Both of them have the same features such as new animations, sound effects, and even a new voice actor. The only difference is the colors.
Solar Eclipse is primarily yellow, while the Lunar Eclipse Leona is purple. As far as their abilities go, there are minor differences that are frankly not worth mentioning. You should go for the skin that stands out to you more. Also, be ready to spend a slightly bit more as it costs 1820 RP.

2. Battle Academia Leona
Right off the bat, we have to say this skin is unlike any of her other ones. Her model appears much smaller and someone might like that. On the other hand, we, don’t think it works very well with her overall theme. She feels weaker compared to her usual warrior self.
The skin is dominated by variations of purple and blue colors. While Riot themselves said they tried to present her cheerful, she doesn’t necessarily give off that vibe. Instead, she lusts for the blood of her enemies. It costs 1350 RP, and if you are willing to pay more you can acquire some of her chromas as well. They will change her outfit as well as her hair color.
1. Mecha Kingdoms Leona – Best Overall
Undoubtedly, the best Leona skin right now is Mecha Kingdoms Leona. It takes the best parts of various skins and combines them into a masterpiece. She pilots a mech powered by the life essence of her enemies.
Her mech makes her body bigger making her even more intimidating. As she always wears a mask it only makes sense that her voice is filtered as well. Meaning, she sounds different compared to her other skins. Spells on this skin are very similar to the PROJECT ones but are taken one step further. Personally, my favorite part of the skin is her sword.
Lastly, alongside detailed sound effects are also numerous chromas. But if you are not interested in that you can get the base skin for just 1350 RP.
