Having many Rune Pages is a thing of the past, although they can be extremely helpful as well. They’re quite pricey when compared to what they provide to the player. While we don’t recommend getting more of them, here’s a guide on how to get more Rune Pages in LoL.

What Are Rune Pages?
Runes are a crucial part of the League of Legends universe. They allow you to power up your champion with different stats by using a couple of paths. There are five different paths you can go for. They are Precision, Domination, Sorcery, Resolve, and Inspiration, each unique in some way. Before each game, you can choose which two you will be using, one primary that will contain a keystone and the other as your secondary path.
You need to have correct Runes for your respective champion. Having the wrong ones will put you at a disadvantage throughout the game compared to your opponent. There are different ways you can get the best ones such as following what pros do or checking sites such as Mobalytics. These are just some of the ways you can optimize them.

Why Were Rune Pages Important?
In the past, players weren’t able to change runes in champion select. Instead, they had to have a premade rune page ready. While OTPs (one trick ponies – players who play only one champion) didn’t have many issues with them, casual players were forced to own many different rune pages.
Just like nowadays, depending on what champion you played, you had to use a different Rune Set. Having 2 pages that were unlocked for free was just simply not enough. In response, players turned to buy multiple Rune Pages to fill their needs.
Why Are They Helpful?
Nowadays we’re able to change Runes directly from champion select. This was a much-needed change and removed the advantage of having more pages. While we wouldn’t advise you to spend your precious Blue Essence (BE) on more Rune Pages, we can’t ignore their benefits either.
They’re extremely useful if you’re unfamiliar with your champion’s setup. On top of that if you’re still inexperienced with runes, choosing the correct ones can add extra pressure on you. While there is plenty of time to do it in Ranked queues, the same cannot be said for Normal games. There you have much less time and it’s quite hard to have a perfect setup.
To use them to their full potential you should pre-make Rune Pages for your favorite champions and leave 1 page empty. You’ll be editing this empty page in case you play something unordinary. You should be buying them only if you have extra Blue Essence and you unlocked all of the other things you want.
Why You Shouldn’t Buy More Rune Pages
If this was Season 5, we’d be arguing how beneficial they are. But it is not Season 5 anymore, but rather Season 2022. Many things have changed in the game and having the ability to change your runes just before the game starts is one of the most welcomed ones. Runes are not changed often so many players have gotten used to them by now. If you are just a new player, don’t worry, they’ll grow on you soon enough.
The main reason why buying them is bad is their price. Paying 6300 BE is simply put, way too much. With there being more than 150 champions in the game having extra BE is quite rare. On top of that, Blue Essence Emporium comes at least 2 times per year where you can get premium things such as Chromas for BE.
And even if you have trouble making your Runes on time, they’re still not the best thing for you. There are different ways you can have proper Runes every game, and also save your BE.
- Blitz – Hands down the best League tool available. Blitz makes your Runes automatically each game depending on what champion you are playing. Also, it shows you different statistics for both teams that will increase your chances of winning and getting that higher MMR.
- Probuilds – This site tracks pro player games and their builds. Just select your champion and you’ll be shown best runes for them. You’ll have to add them manually yourself in the game though. Extra bonus is that it also shows opposing laner in case specific match ups have different paths.
How To Buy Them?
If you are still not convinced on why you shouldn’t buy multiple rune pages, here’s how to purchase them. They cost 590 RP, or 6300 BE.
- Open Store
- Go to “Accessories”
- From the left menu select “Rune Pages”
- Unlock a new Page

How To Rename a Rune Page
After you successfully bought it and edited it for your favorite champion, you’ll want to separate it from others. To give it a unique name, open it and press the Pen icon from the left side. We recommend giving it a unique name, so you will not confuse it with some other page in the heat of the moment. No one wants to enter the game with the wrong Runes selected!
How to delete a Rune Page
There are certain times that we don’t like how our runes are, or there are too many pages making everything crowdy and hard to navigate. If you want to delete some of them here is how you do it.
- Go to Runes tab on your Profile
- Open some Rune Page
- Press Delete as shown on the picture below and confirm it
When it comes to Preset Pages, you can’t delete them. But, if you mind them, you can hide them from your profile using the “Hide preset pages” option from the Runes tab.
Why Can’t I Buy More Rune Pages?
The maximum amount each player can own is currently set to 25 (increased from 20 in the past). If you don’t see an option to buy them perhaps you already own 25 of them. This would make your total 30 (including 5 Preset pages). On the other hand, players below level 9 are unable to edit, nor buy them.
Conclusion
Having multiple Rune Pages is outdated. There are tools and ways you can get the same effect while using only one even if you are a complete newbie. You should rather spend your BE on more beneficial things, such as champions. The only good time to buy more of them is if you have too much Blue Essence and you have no clue what to do with it.
